Welcome to the Boght Arts Center
The Boght Arts Center came to fruition as a result of efforts from individuals who, saddened by the closure of an historic and beautiful church property in Boght Corners, sought to explore the connections between faith and the arts. Albany Classis of the Reformed Church in America, owners of the property, granted their blessing to a development board formed to explore that idea. By May 2009 the new arts center opened and within mere months became a place where different art forms and cultures have come to intersect. Here, artists from varying faith and cultural backgrounds feel comfortable expressing themselves through the arts.

A Spiritual Experience in Africa – Multi-Media Presentation
Stephen Andersen took a leave of absence from the corporate world between 2005 and 2007 to volunteer in Mali, West Africa. He supported the country’s micro-finance program, secured the country’s first commercial solar oven, started an aid program for people with disabilities, and began selling jewelry in the USA made from discarded farm animal bones in Africa’s second largest, slum. Come hear Steve describe his work through stories and pictures and tell how this experience opened his heart and changed his spirit. Kiberan jewelry will be for sale and proceeds will be split between the Boght Arts Center and the craftspeople of this African slum.
